Kia ora! I’m back!
Those of you following me on twitter will have noticed the beginning of a new adventure…all about birds. A Birdventure! For the next few months I’ll be travelling Aotearoa north to south, chasing photographs of birds. It’s partly because I want to, and partly because Skye Wishart and I are collaborating on a book about our beautiful manu.
I started in Paihia, with the 2018 BirdsNZ conference. I’m currently in Auckland tidying up some bits and pieces before hitting the road south. At the start of July I’ll be in Wellington, and then I’ll take the ferry across to Te Waiponamu, and begin my South Island birdventure, driving down the west coast. All going to plan, I’ll end up on Rakiura for a few weeks before heading northwards once more, this time taking the east coast.
I have a few specific goals – birds we need photographs of for the book – but otherwise, I’ll be exploring and taking each day as it comes. So I have a question for you all:
Do you have any suggestions?
Places I should go, things I definitely shouldn’t miss?
Let me know! Drop a comment here, or email me, message me.
Follow the tag #birdventureNZ on twitter and instagram to keep up with my journey! I’ll be posting blogs here and there, but nothing too regular.
Here’s a few of my recent birdventure shots, from a week in the Bay of Islands:
