What to say about Bath. It’s a beautiful place and has a rich history dating back to the Romans (around AD60) when it was known as Aquae Sulis. The entire city is a World Heritage Site, but Bath is probably most famous for the Roman Baths and Georgian architecture.
I remember arriving in Bath in 2009 in the rain, and walking around a seemingly deserted town centre and being the only people actually at the Roman Baths (which was nice). This time, it was sunny and crowded. We visited the Roman Baths first and then wandered around in the afternoon, tackling hills and getting slightly lost on the way to the Royal Crescent (we made it in the end). It’s a lovely city just to wander around in, and it also has some rather neat sweet shops (and fudge shops!) tucked away in little streets, so it’s well worth getting a bit lost.
