An Adelie on an Iceberg, regarding us curiously.
Perhaps one day I’ll be lucky enough to have an evening like this again. The sun was setting, the moon was rising, and the sea mirrored the sky in a perfect gradient from dusky pink to deep, deep blue. We were returning north after crossing the Antarctic Circle and spending the day in Crystal Sound – the air was achingly cold. Regardless, we stood out on deck for as long as we could, before the promise of the next day drove us to bed. I can’t wait to write up a full blog post about this wonderful evening, but it was too good not to share early!
