If you follow me on instagram (@edinzphoto), you’ll have seen this photo already! We saw Chinstrap penguins the least (well, apart from the three Macaroni penguins at Hannah Point), but my favourite photographs are of them. I love capturing serendipitous moments like this – a levitating Chinstrap. There were a few lonely individuals wandering around the shore at Neko Harbour, and this one tackled the rocks with enthusiasm. I’m always amazed by how tough these little bird are, and the terrain they can master despite seeming quite ungainly. Their colonies range right up into rocky heights that were quite a hike for us, let alone them!
