I’ve been trying to nail a nice riroriro Grey warbler photograph recently. There’s a pair that shows up every now and then in my sparse urban garden, foraging in the pōhutukawa tree for tiny insects. There’s an abundance of them at Tāwharanui though, which is where I found this wee beauty flitting through the mānuka! It’s such a beautiful springy image with all the flowers. I’m particularly pleased with the pose – illustrating the beautiful white markings on the tail feathers. It’s been rewarding to set little goals like this, I find it gives me focus and pushes me to spend longer working for images to really get something I’m happy with. What’s your little goal for your photography at the moment?
