Expeditions

The #birdventureNZ was a year-long project photographing the manu of Aotearoa. I travelled north to Rangitāhua the Kermadec Islands, south to Rakiura Stewart Island, and east to Rēkohu/Wharekauri Chatham Island to photograph as many of New Zealand’s birds as possible, in addition to traversing our mainland islands north to south from ocean to mountains and back again.
I have travelled to New Zealand’s subantarctic islands a number of times with Heritage Expeditions, first as a scholarship student and then as a guide! These overlooked wildernesses are home to some of the most amazing ecosystems on earth, but suffer their share of threats from introduced species to climate change.
Antarctica – another world. Visiting the continent in 2015 was a transformative experience that I was lucky enough to share with my father.
